After three months of meticulous preparation and relentless effort, the installation and commissioning of 26 sets of KYN61 medium-voltage 33KV switchgear in Dar es Salaam, the capital of Tanzania, have been successfully completed and successfully energized. This milestone achievement not only marks another significant breakthrough in China’s high-end electrical equipment manufacturing and export sector but also deeply reflects another fruitful outcome of China-Africa cooperation in infrastructure construction.
From the inception of the project, the Chinese team faced numerous challenges: ensuring that the equipment design met the local electrical standards and needs of Tanzania, overcoming difficulties in long-distance transportation, and managing the complexity and time constraints of on-site installation and commissioning. However, with deep technical expertise, extensive international project execution experience, and a profound understanding of African market demands, the Chinese team collaborated closely with Tanzanian partners to overcome obstacle after obstacle.
The KYN61 medium-voltage 33KV switchgear, as a critical component in the power system, directly relates to the safe operation of the entire grid. The 26 sets of equipment delivered this time not only adopt advanced insulation technology and intelligent control systems but also incorporate environmentally friendly and energy-saving design concepts, aiming to enhance the intelligence and energy efficiency of Tanzania’s power grid. Through precise debugging and testing, these devices have been successfully connected to the local grid, providing more stable and efficient power supply to residents and industrial users in Dar es Salaam and surrounding areas.
The successful implementation of this project has not only injected new vitality into Tanzania’s power infrastructure construction but also provided a strong power guarantee for promoting local economic development and improving people’s quality of life. It further deepened mutual trust and cooperation between China and Tanzania in the energy sector, laying a solid foundation for both sides to carry out more mutually beneficial and win-win projects in the future.
Looking ahead, China will continue to adhere to the principle of “consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits,” deepening cooperation with African countries, especially in infrastructure construction fields such as power, transportation, and communications. Through technology transfer, talent cultivation, capacity cooperation, and other means, China will help African countries achieve sustainable development goals. At the same time, China will continue to enhance its technological innovation capabilities, providing global customers with more customized and intelligent electrical equipment solutions, and jointly promoting global energy transformation and green development.
